OLD BUSINESS
- CHAR
CAP – All involved in Char-Cap thank you.
Comments not back yet. Got
bad vibes from Alcona at site will be taken care of.
- It was
a lot of work but we will be glad we did it. Iosco County LEPC was the start of CHAR-CAP. Thank you everyone who was involved.
NEW BUSINESS
- HOUSEHOLD
HAZARD WASTE- Plan annual report in November to submit to Board of
Commissioners for one pickup next year in fall.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ISSUES
- The
DOJ Grant money (Approx. $26,000) for 2001 was spent on 800 MH radios to
be delivered next week. We got
better radios at a cheaper price.
The Sheriff will get 2 extra radios with radios on each Fire
Department.
- The
2002 DOJ Grant will be approx. $37,000 does not have to be spent until
Dec. 31, 2003. Will come back to
LEPC to discuss what to spend this on.
Used $1000 for exercise expense from grant.
- LEPC –
EOC requirement in all states, every county needs a Hazard Mitigation
Grant in place. It is a very
detailed plan to be put into effect.
East Central Michigan Planning Commission applies for each
grant. Iosco County has been
asked. Need to ask Board of
Commissioners if we ask ECMPC to make grant. The grant extended to Nov 2004. LEPC Board OK’d Tim to go to Commissioners to OK this. Our two main concerns are flooding and
wildfires.
