Had a video presentation from MPS (National Pharmacy Stockpile) in regard to a 12-hour push package.  Region 1 in Lansing and Jackson area has the plan.  Barb Macgregor told about the National Repository of Life Saving Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies that can be sent to our area in 12 hours to help in a time of need.  They are looking for allocation in the area that can receive large amounts of items.  The mission of NPS is to ensure the availability of Life-Saving pharmaceutical, antidotes and other medical supplies and equipment necessary to counter the effects of nerve agents, biological pathogens and chemical agents.  The NPS Program stands ready for immediate deployment to any US location in the event of a terrorist attack using a biological, toxin or chemical agent directed against any civilian population.  This Plan was used on 9-11 in New York also with the anthrax attracts.
